Door County Land Trust Member Events

Attending a Door County Land Trust event is a great way to get to know the special places you've helped protect AND the special people who share your passion for protecting Door County's scenic beauty and natural areas.  There are many events to choose from to suit a wide variety of interests.   We look forward to seeing you at one of our upcoming events!

"Explore the Door " Hikes and Outing Series

Free outings are held each month throughout Door County- See Current Schedule

"Explore the Door" Hike of the Bissen Property- Photo by Kathy WolffCome hike, ski, or snowshoe with us to special places in Door County!  The "Explore the Door" outing series offers Land Trust members a variety of outdoor adventures led by staff or trained Door County Land Trust volunteer hike leaders.  We'll visit different locations throughout Door County each month.  Notification is sent via email.  All "Explore the Door" outings are free of charge, but pre-registration is required.

Dining for Open Spaces series

2011 Dining Events continue through February 2012 - throughout Door County

 Visit the Dining for Open Spaces section of our website to learn more about this event.

The Dining for Open Spaces is an annual series of events hosted by Land Trust members to benefit the Door County Land Trust.  They welcome other fellow land preservation enthusiasts into their homes for brunches, lunches, cocktail parties and dinners.  Each Dining event includes a visit to one of Door County’s beautiful open spaces. And new this year, we've added more Dining events including a casual, outdoor picnic series, Reading the Door County Landscape, and cozy winter evening Soup Suppers scheduled through February 2012!  Learn more...

Midwinter's Feast by the Fire

February 19, 2012 - Bjorklunden Lodge, Baileys Harbor
(Inclement weather date is February 20, 2012)

The Midwinter's Feast by the Fire is an annual event held each February at Bjorklunden Lodge in Baileys Harbor where guests are treated to the culinary talents of the local restaurants who donate their time and talent to benefit the Land Trust.  The sell-out event raises mid-winter spirits and funds for land preservation.  Invitations have been mailed!  See our home page for more details.


Door County Festival of Nature

May 18-19, 2012- throughout Door County

Door County Festival of Nature is an annual event that features a series of hikes, presentations and workshops.  It is a great way to find out more about the natural wonders of Door County. Sponsors include the Ridges Sanctuary, Door County Land Trust, The Nature Conservancy, Crossroads at Big Creek, The Clearing and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. PLEASE NOTE:  The date has changed to the weekend before Memorial Day Weekend!

Washington Island Birding Festival

TBD - Washington Island

At this annual event, birding enthusiasts gather on Washington Island for a weekend of bird-related excursions and programs.  A portion of the proceeds raised by this event benefit the Door County Land Trust

Door County Sea Kayak Symposium

Held each July - Rowleys Bay and throughout Door County

Rutabaga Paddlesports of Madison sponsors this annual event held each July and donates part of its proceeds to the Door County Land Trust. It’s a great weekend for novices and seasoned kayakers alike!

Washington Island Folk Festival

Held each July - Washington Island

Talented local musicians and storytellers offer a crowd-pleasing evening of folk music at the Island’s quaint Red Barn Theatre. Proceeds from the Folk Fest benefit the Door County Land Trust.  For more information, please contact the Land Trust at info@doorcountylandtrust.org.

Annual Membership Gathering

Held each August

An annual celebration of land preservation success with Door County Land Trust members.  Conversation, camaraderie, hikes, refreshments and other activities make this a popular event.
